Linear Park, Southall
Inspired by the past, designed for today
We worked alongside artist Mel Chantrey to help transform his conceptual sketches into a cohesive collection of bespoke play elements for Linear Park in Southall. Drawing inspiration from the site’s gasworks heritage, each piece takes cues from industrial forms, reimagined through a playful lens.
From the bold steel hoops of the Vortex rope climber to custom seesaws, swings, and the freestanding slide, every item was built to reflect the spirit of the landscape’s past while offering new ways for children to move, balance, and explore.
A connected, characterful play scheme
Each element shares a consistent visual language: exposed steel, sculptural shapes, and subtle nods to machinery and engineering.
Set within a rich linear landscape, the scheme brings energy, identity, and inclusive play opportunities to one of London’s fastest-transforming neighbourhoods.
