Key Terms and Conditions: Massey and Harris are proud to offer the guarantees stipulated below. Massey and Harris offer the guarantees based on the condition that the play equipment has been regularly maintained in line with what would be expected. Please contact the Head Office if you’d like to discuss maintenance and inspection routines and we’ll be more than happy to help.

Keeping your Playground Equipment in it’s best working order:

As with most items in life, the more you look after it the longer it’ll last. Playground equipment is no different. With a little bit of love and care, the playground items will last way beyond their expected life. A regular and detailed maintenance plan goes a long way in ensuring that your items will stay in their best condition. Massey and Harris recommends that you complete maintenance on the playground equipment in line with the Daily, Weekly and Monthly inspection checklist. Some items will require a simple visual check, where some items will require a more thorough check to make sure that nothings amiss.

If you require spares, Massey and Harris can offer genuine OEM spares and replacements at competitive costs. We don’t think that spares and replacements should cost the earth. You’ve paid for the product once, to keep it functioning as it is shouldn’t mean having to pay for expensive spares.

Our Guarantees

Timber: We offer a 5, 10 or 15 year guarantee against structural failure caused by rot or infestation. The length of guarantee is determined by what material type is offered / specified. Our UK Pine offers a 5 year guarantee, 10 years on Radiata Pine, Southern Yellow Pine and Robinia*, and 15 years on laminated timber.

Phenol Covered Hexabaord Decks: A two year guarantee is given against structural failure caused by rot or infestation. The hexaboard top is not covered by our guarantees. Any chipping or delamination will not be covered.

Steelwork: A 15 year steelwork guarantee is given against structural failure.

Stainless Steel Slides: A fifteen year steelwork guarantee is given against structural failure.

Bearings: Steel Bearing (Anti-wraps) are covered by our lifetime guarantee against structural failure. Roller Bearings have a five year guarantee and slew bearings have a ten year guarantee. Nylon bearings have a 12 month guarantee and should be expected to be replaced within 3 years. All bearings must have a recorded service schedule. Consumables such as the Tuffcot Shell, nylon bearings and brass bushes will have an expected life, but these could be accelerated if the product is well used.

Powdercoating: Steel items have a zinc phosphate protective undercoat and are polyester powder coated to give a 5 year paint guarantee.

HDPE Panels: Covered by a five year guarantee. This does not cover colour degradation. Colour degradation is guaranteed for 24 months.

Security Fixings: (including all structural Bolts, Nuts etc) Covered by a lifetime guarantee against structural failure.

Nets: (including Rope Ladders, Suspension Bridges, Pull-up & balance Ropes etc). Covered by a three year guarantee. All ropes must have a recorded service schedule. All rope will have an expected life, but this could be accelerated if the product is well used.

Plastic Caps: (Bolt/Nut covers) Covered by a five year guarantee.

‘Wet Pour’ Rubber Safer Surfacing: 3 year guarantee against workmanship or materials.

Synthetic Grass: (including rubber mat underlay) Covered by a three year guarantee.

Notts Sports Childsplay System: (including rubber mat underlay) Covered by a seven year guarantee.

All of our guarantees exclude normal wear and tear, accidental damage and damage as a result of vandalism. For synthetic grass and childsplay we assume sand is bi-annually renewed.

* Our 10 year Robinia guarantee is only applicable when timbers have had in ground protection applied. This is an additional service that needs to be requested at time of order. Robinia that doesn’t have in ground protection is guaranteed for 5 years against rot and decay. Robinia is not guaranteed against split and shakes, whilst every endeavour has been carried out to minimise the possibility of the Robinia splitting, some splitting may occur.

Near Water Installations: Products installed in direct contact with chlorinated water or saltwater, or products installed within 200 metres from the shore (as the crow flies) are not covered by our warranty for any defects caused by corrosion. Specific items within our range can be upgraded to corrosion class C4 or greater prior to delivery / installation. These items will be covered only against structural failure caused by corrosion for no period longer than 10 years. Paintwork / powder coating will only be covered up to 3 years.
