Another bespoke roundabout top is taking shape on the workshop floor. The base is made, and the top pieces cut and ready for coating.

The tower we flew in by helicopter
We took a look back at the Roderick Dhu Lookout Tower this month. The site isn't easy to get to, so how did the tower get there?
In June 2024 we worked with CAP.CO on this timber-clad tower. CAP.CO created the concept. We designed and manufactured the steel framework in our Stockport workshop.
The structure was built in modular sections, so each one could be transported and lifted into place by helicopter. In the air, the key was keeping the weight well distributed.
Once the sections were in, CAP.CO's team took over, finishing the tower with timber cladding and decks. Now it looks out across Loch Katrine, with some of the best views in the Highlands.

A bespoke slide with a custom plate
Sometimes off the shelf doesn't cut it. This month Marcin worked on a bespoke tunnel slide finished with a custom octagonal top plate.
All made in our Stockport workshop.
Robinia swing frames
Over in our timber workshop, the team has been building Robinia swing frames for a natural play space we'll be installing over the next few months.
No two Robinia logs are the same. They twist and bend in their own way, so every frame is a little different.

Why our slides are stainless steel
A slide takes every kind of weather and every kind of child. Stainless steel is built for it.
It resists corrosion, so it doesn't rust or flake. There's no coating to wear through, so the finish holds up year after year.
It looks good indoors and out, and it needs very little upkeep. For a council, that means fewer repairs and a longer life from every slide.
If durability matters on your project, put the right material in the tender spec.
