Newmarket Racecourse Play Area

Working with Forma Landscapes for The Jockey Club, we created a natural, high-quality play area to enhance the visitor experience at one of the UK’s premier racecourses. The centrepiece is a striking multi-level tower combining timber and stainless steel, complete with climbing wall, scramble net, a 2.4m trough slide, and a dramatic 3.6m double-bend tunnel slide.

Other bespoke elements include a multi-level sand play unit designed for collaborative play, a 6m-long Everard rope swing, and in-ground stainless steel crawl tunnels with lookout domes. Every detail was considered for capacity, durability, and play value, with the entire space landscaped using bark surfacing and turf to maintain a natural aesthetic.

Since opening, the playground has been widely enjoyed by families and visitors, and led to a follow-up commission at a second Jockey Club site the following year.
