Chorlton Water Park
Beloved local nature reserve gets a playground overhaul...
Chorlton Water Park, a beloved local nature reserve in Manchester faced a common problem: it's play provision was lacking. The existing play area was long overdue an overhaul. Manchester City Council sought a solution that would transform the space into a new, engaging and safe play environment for children. With high footfall, the council wanted a play unit that would be able to cater for a large number of users. We installed our popular Lamba Play Unit.
Due to funding restraints, we had to phase the works and by using the modular Lamba Unit this was a breeze. We initially installed a 3 Tower Version, and when more funding was available we extended the play unit to our 7 Tower Version.
... increasing visitor numbers and improving the visitor experience
The Lamba Play Unit features large decks and challenging play activities and it also features a 2.7m high tunnel slide, a true favourite.
We complemented the rest of the scheme with our Revolver Swing and a 2.4m Double Bay Swing.
The revitalised play area has been a resounding success and since it's completion it's become a central hub of activity and is enjoyed by numerous children and their families. The combination of natural materials on the Lamba blends into the surroundings and it's backed up with durable elements such as the decks and rails allowing it to fit in beautifully within the picturesque lakeside setting.
