Manchester’s Must-Visit Play Spaces

‍Planning some family adventures? Here are five of our favourite playgrounds across Greater Manchester, each one designed to spark imagination, burn energy, and bring the wow.

1. Mayfield Play Yard

Towering steel structures, a riverside slide, and serious height—this is a playground that’s as bold as the Manchester skyline. There's something here for all ages, including accessible features and toddler-friendly zones.‍

2. Lakeside Play Area

Climb your way to the treetops! Inspired by seed pods and sprouting buds, this nature-themed playground features soaring Bud towers, rope routes, wobble bridges and a huge slide to bring you back down to earth.

3. Ancoats Green

The 10m-tall Bottle play tower steals the show in this newly redeveloped green space. Inside: rope decks, spiral stairs and a central column climber up to the giant slide. Outside: bold design that nods to the area’s industrial past.

4. RHS Bridgewater

This beautifully landscaped site hides Play Wild, a wooden adventure zone with balance logs, rope trails and sculptural timber play, all nestled among the trees. Nature and play, working together.

5. UFO Play Area

A giant UFO has landed... and it brought springies, spinners, climbing boulders and a huge tunnel slide. This space-themed site is built for big imaginations and intergalactic fun.
