Saviour CoE School
Creating outdoor learning provision for children.
We were approached by a local school to create an outdoor learning space that was both functional and also ties in with the existing building. The goal was to provide teachers with more flexible teaching options and students with a dynamic environment that extends learning beyond the traditional classroom walls.
The design choices combined an arc roof with large windows that allow for excellent natural light to flood the shelter, creating an environment that feels spacious and open. The shelter is steel in construction providing a robust solution to the typical Mancunian weather.
The results have been great, with teachers commentating that they now have a flexible space for a wide range of subjects. The shelter has been a central hub for outdoor activities and learning enriching the school's educational offering.
The outdoor shelter has transformed the learning provision that we can provide. Children can now partake in a wider range of activities allowing them to benefit greatly.
