To produce new equipment to create a dynamic space at Cheetham Park

  • Initial consultation during November 2009 with MCC
  • Play Area Design and Layout was finalised after previous feedback from Local Friends Groups
  • Playbuilder play area development which was required to meet the specification issued by MCC
  • Included a requirement for ing a 4m high Embankment Tunnel Slide and Giant Spinning Disk
  • Response from Massey & Harris submitted Dec 2009
  • Go Ahead received Jan 2010
  • Design and manufacture carried out – Spring 2010
  • Delivery required April 2010
  • 4m High Embankment Tunnel Slide – High quality stainless steel slide, which is sectional and final assembly carried out on site by M&H.
  • Embankment dimensions including slide angles were specified by David Pilgrim (Operations Director) who worked closely with MCC’s Project Engineer, Andy Gay, from Contracting Services. 
  • Giant Spinning Disk – Brand new product for Spring 2010, this developed on from supplying Roundabouts of varying specifications over the previous 10 years. This new addition is designed to challenge children from the age of 8 upwards ... the 2.5m large roundabout provides balancing, co-ordination, timing and running activities. This play item can also be used for inclusive play as it provides a rotating and rocking motion when operated at slow speeds.
  • Hammock ( Scotch Pine Posts with Polychord Net ) – Designed for the older age groups to encourage social interaction.
  • 5 Way Cluster Swing – Particularly popular with children from 5 years upwards. This robust and low maintenance Pentagonal Steel structure was installed into the large play area. MCC had been looking to install a 5 Way swing and Cheetham Park provided a perfect opportunity to install
  • Groundworks - Supplied by the existing MCC contractors

All Equipment designed to challenge the children including balancing, co-ordination, timing and running activities.
