For many years self closing gates have featured the use of springs as a means of closure. The maintenance of these gates in their various forms has shown that gate springs weaken and deform leaving the gate to partially close.
Adjustment is not easy and a gate which closes too quickly is as hazardous as one which will not close at all.
Massey and Harris can now offer a substantial gate which has a two speed Hydraulic closing system. Fast return, slow to shut. The slow and fast closing is easily adjusted using a small screw driver applied to the base of the gate.
Gates using this type of closure are generally 1.0m to 1.2m wide by 1.0m to 1.2m high.
The steelwork can be plain galvanised finish or galvanised and powder coated or zinc sprayed and powder coated.
